About Us

The BBB Education Foundation is a non-profit organization, 501(c)3 with the IRS. All donations are tax-deductible.

Since 1912, the BBB has fostered ethical marketplace conduct between businesses and consumers. Now our Education Foundation is spreading the message of business and consumer ethics to schools and senior and community centers. But we can’t do it alone.

We urge you to donate to the Education Foundation today. You can help us make a measurable difference by supporting the kind of innovation that helps prepare area teens for the rest of their lives. Will you?

Programs:

Within Reason: Making a Measurable Difference

See What Students Are Saying About Within Reason

“When we went over the scenarios, it made me realize that having good character matters.”
— sophomore, White Sulphur Springs High School

Why Are Ethics Important?

In December 2008, the Josephson Institute* surveyed nearly 30,000 U.S. high school students:

Ø 30% of the teenagers admitting to stealing within the past year.
Ø 36% have plagiarized a paper from the Internet.
Ø 42% of teenagers sometimes lie to save money.
Ø 64% have cheated on a test during the past year.

These kids are our future business leaders, employees, and consumers. If they’re not exposed to ethics training, our future marketplace could become even worse than it is today. And by the way, 93% of the kids in the survey above said they were “satisfied” with their personal ethics.
